About Sarah

Sarah Reader Harris is a British author who has lived in Belgium for many years and has published numerous children's books. Her books often feature animals searching for a home, including a series about a sheep that does not fit in with the flock.

Sarah regularly returns to the Isle of Skye, where she finds inspiration in the rugged landscape and the many animals that live there.

In Belgium, Sarah volunteers as a guardian for underage asylum seekers and organises storytelling sessions in refugee centres and at her local library. In the past, she worked weekly with asylum seekers in Klein Kasteeltje (an asylum centre in Brussels). Together with musician Marieke Slovin, she made music there and turned the migration stories into poetry, which resulted in the book: On the Move: Poems and Songs of Migration. Sarah's stories are written for anyone looking for a place where they belong. She offers various interactive workshops for children aged 3 to 12, hoping to encourage them to discover their own unique stories.
